Hayfever Injections

Do you feel like you have tried everything when it comes to hay fever? You’ve tried everything in the pharmacy, everything the GP has suggested or given you. But still you have hay fever symptoms? You have the sniffles, an itchy throat and watery eyes as soon as the warmer weather is with us. Medicines and nasal sprays just aren’t helping? Then speak to us we may be able to help.

We have many treatment options and management strategies. Some of our clients may be suitable for Kenalog, a painless injection for season relief of hay fever.

The injection contains the active substance triamcinolone acetonide, which belongs to a group of medicines called steroids. Their full name is corticosteroids. These occur naturally in the body and help to maintain health and well-being. Boosting your body with extra corticosteroid (such as the Kenalog injection) is an effective way to treat various illnesses involving inflammation in the body including hay fever.

You might want to know if you’re suitable. One of our medical team can discuss with you and guide you towards our detailed patient information leaflet. We do have a strict escalation policy for those that may be suitable for this treatment. Book your consultation to find out more and how we can help.

Some patients report a good reduction in symptoms as close to 24 hours after the treatment. However, it normally takes 4-5 days to reach its peak in helping your symptoms. Some patients with hay fever find that one injection lasts throughout their pollen season.

Jacqui Chequer

Emma is absolutely amazing. I have been in so many different places before which were overpriced and very push to do more and more. Emma is so down to earth and will give you the best treatment ever. I had Botox and Profhilo which I love it. I highly recommend Emma if you are looking for someone reliable and professional.

Let's Talk

Arrange your complimentary consultation now so you can start to understand your potential treatment journey in the non-surgical aesthetics arena. Here at EK Clinic®, we offer face to face and virtual consultations to suit you.

Whatever your concerns, our Aesthetic Medical Team will be able to give you advice on all things skin related especially ageing positively.

What is hayfever and why do I suffer?

Hay fever is an allergic reaction to pollen. Around 10 to 15 per cent of Brits are afflicted at different stages of the year, depending on the type of pollen they're allergic to. Why not google the UK pollen calendar if you are unsure of your allergy type.

So, hay fever is an allergic response to the foreign body pollen, which is harmless. But your immune system sees it as a foreign substance entering the body and attempts to remove it by initiating an inflammatory response.

How do hayfever injections work?

We have a detailed patient information leaflet for this. Why not come into the Clinic to ask for a copy or book a free of charge consultation to understand your suitability.

What are the risks of hayfever injections?

This is a treatment requiring a detailed consultation and medical assessment. At our CQC registered clinic our medical team are here to guide you through the consultation and discuss in detail the risks versus benefits along with determining your suitability.

How many treatments are required?

Some patients with hay fever find that one injection lasts throughout their pollen season.

On occasion it may be necessary to have a repeat injection to see you through your allergy season.

What are the results?

Some patients report a good reduction in symptoms as close to 24 hours after the shot. However, it normally takes 4-5 days to reach its peak in helping your symptoms. Results vary but many of our patients experience relief of all of their hayfever symptoms.
